Baseball Recap: Warden Takes a Loss

Columbia hit Warden with a seven-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Coyotes, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 on Friday.

Danny Martinez and DeMarques Valdez did some serious damage despite the final result: Martinez went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run, while Valdez went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Warden's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Columbia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9-1.

As of now, neither Warden nor the Coyotes have any future games scheduled.
