Baseball Recap: Classical Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Classical Academy can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Maranatha Christian Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Caimans: when they faced off against the Eagles on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-4 loss.

Nick Holbrook tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Travis Perry was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 8-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Gosselin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Classical Academy back to even at 13-13. As for Maranatha Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-12 record.

Classical Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
