Basketball Recap: Spring Creek Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Spring Creek waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They managed a 35-29 win over the Pahrump Valley Trojans.

Spring Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Youngblood out in front who posted eight points and five rebounds. Youngblood is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Spring Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pahrump Valley only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Pahrump Valley lost, don't look at Ryleigh Denton. Despite the final result, she earned 14 points and five rebounds. That was a full 48.3% of Pahrump Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Saldana, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Spring Creek's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pahrump Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mohave Accelerated the next time they take the court. Spring Creek will head out to face Mohave Accelerated at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Pahrump Valley will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
