Volleyball Recap: Trinity Bulldogs vs. Southeast Guilford Falcons
Trinity unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Southeast Guilford Falcons on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Trinity was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Southeast Guilford work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Trinity had strong showings from Avalynn Johnson, who had 20 assists, and Charlee Phillips, who had nine digs and three assists. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season.
Southeast Guilford has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will face off against Leadership Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeast Guilford, they will head out to face off against Ragsdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
