With a playoff win on the line, Hutto rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Bowie Bulldogs. The victory was familiar territory for the Hippos, who have now won three contests in a row.

Dylan Owens was his usual excellent self, rushing for 72 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards. Hutto also got a significant boost from Keilan Chavies, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hutto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Bowie lost, don't look at Rhys Moreno. Despite the final result, he rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Moreno's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 137 rushing yards. Hutto's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
