Baseball Recap: St. Joseph-Ogden Beats Prairie Central for Their Tenth Straight Victory

St. Joseph-Ogden extended their winning streak to ten on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-2 in the process. Everything went their way against the Prairie Central Hawks as they made off with a 10-4 win. Considering the Spartans have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Prairie Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12. They have struggled against St. Joseph-Ogden recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

For Prairie Central's part, Lucas Steidinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Puttkamer, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph-Ogden will challenge Oakwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Prairie Central, they will welcome Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
