Football Recap: John Jay Takes a Loss

After soaring to 49 points the game before, John Jay was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Bronxville Broncos and fell 44-13. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why John Jay lost, don't look at Nick Rinaldi. Despite the final result, he rushed for 122 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Rinaldi's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 122 rushing yards.

Brian Formato was his usual excellent self, rushing for 171 yards and three TDs on only nine carries for Bronxville. Formato's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Theo McMurray, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes.

John Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bronxville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

John Jay didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-28 loss against Ardsley on the 18th. As for Bronxville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-21 victory against Tuckahoe on the 18th.
