Softball Recap: Midland Wins Going Away Against Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy

Midland's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy Tigers as Midland made off with a 26-7 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rebels needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Mackenzie Credeur was a standout: she scored four runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those eight stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sage Cormier was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Midland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Midland's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland will challenge Welsh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Midland's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Welsh has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy, they will host Lafayette Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
