Volleyball Game Preview: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Alief Taylor Lions

The Seven Lakes Spartans will square off against the Alief Taylor Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seven Lakes will be strutting in after a win while Alief Taylor will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Seven Lakes got the win against Morton Ranch by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-19, 25-13.

Emma Sabelli was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Sabelli wasn't the only good servers: Seven Lakes was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Alief Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Almeta Crawford, falling 3-0.

Alief Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 7-28. As for Seven Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 24-11.
