Football Recap: Apex Friendship Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Apex Friendship won the last time they faced Willow Spring and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots blew past the Storm 28-7. Considering the Patriots have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan McGarrigan had an outrageously good game as he threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards. Those 38 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of McGarrigan's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Shondell Smith, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Apex Friendship didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Willow Spring to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Patriots have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.62 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.62 in their last three games.

The victory (which was Apex Friendship's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.3 points over those games. As for Willow Spring, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Apex Friendship will take on Panther Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Willow Spring, they will face off against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Storm will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
