It's playoff time, and Sumner had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newsome Wolves on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Stingrays: when they faced off against the Wolves back in March, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Sumner saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliyanis Stubbs, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Newsome, they moved to 20-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Sumner nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
