Softball Recap: Cole Comes Up Short

Cole and Cotulla squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cole had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 8-7. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Deborah Garza stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Katherine Zinnante was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cole's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17-1. As for Cotulla, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

As of now, neither Cole nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
