Softball Recap: Providence Hall Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

While Providence Hall put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for American Leadership Academy. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Nena Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Hailey Lenz was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Madelyn Johnson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Providence Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 11 consecutive matches.

Providence Hall pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.2 runs. As for American Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Providence Hall will be taking part in a tournament against Taylorsville at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Park City at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
