Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lake Norman proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the South Mecklenburg Sabres get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Sabres walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Morgan Mcguire looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Lake Norman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Acurero, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lake Norman's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Coming up, Lake Norman will be playing at home against Hough at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Mecklenburg, they will venture away from home to face off against Cuthbertson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
