Softball Recap: Lordsburg Takes a Loss

Lordsburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Capitan on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lordsburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valerie Guerrero, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Nancy Morales was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lordsburg's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Capitan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Lordsburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-11 defeat against Hozho Academy on the 7th. As for Capitan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Mora on the 7th.
