Soccer Recap: New Richmond Starts Season with Win Against Purcell Marian

New Richmond gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Purcell Marian Cavaliers as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for New Richmond, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ryith Rack and Sebastian Barnes scored all three of New Richmond's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Purcell Marian now has a losing record of 0-1-1.

Looking ahead, New Richmond will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Clinton-Massie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give New Richmond their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Purcell Marian, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against DePaul Cristo Rey at 7:00 p.m.
