Basketball Recap: Joseph Mitchell Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

There's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 49-45 victory over the Balboa Buccaneers on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-42 back in January.

Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Mitchell, who posted eight points in addition to 13 boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Mitchell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ezana Hailu, who earned ten points.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alan Ly, who had nine points and three steals. Ly is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Donovan DeSousa was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Washington's record is now 19-9. As for Balboa, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-21.

Coming up, Washington will face off against KIPP SF College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Balboa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
