Volleyball Preview: Fairview Knights vs. Mead Mavericks
The Fairview Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Mead Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairview is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, everything went Fairview's way against Skyline as Fairview made off with a 3-0 win.
Fairview walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-9, 27-25, 25-22.
Fairview can attribute much of their success to Katherine Zheng, who had eight aces and three digs, and Peyton Weiss, who had ten digs. Those eight aces gave Zheng a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Mead made easy work of Skyline on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-21.
The victory got Fairview back to even at 9-9. As for Mead, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
