Basketball Game Preview: Vandegrift Vipers vs. Manor Mustangs

The Vandegrift Vipers will take on the Manor Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vandegrift has three straight wins, Manor has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Vandegrift earned a 49-36 victory over Cedar Ridge. Given the Vipers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Raiders are ranked 622nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Manor was beaten by Stony Point 115-35 on Tuesday.

Vandegrift's win bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 1-24.

Everything came up roses for Vandegrift against Manor in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-24 victory. Will Vandegrift repeat their success, or does Manor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
