Football Game Preview: St. Peter's Eagles vs. St. John the Baptist Cougars

For the second straight game, St. Peter will face off against St. John the Baptist. The Eagles will square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. Peter's was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against St. John the Baptist on Saturday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 33-13 win. The Eagles have beaten the Cougars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

St. Peter's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vincent Damato and Chase Navarro. Navarro is becoming a predictor of St. Peter's success: when he posts at least one interception the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Navarro got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Peter's now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. John the Baptist, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4.
