Tony Damici was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Battle Mountain is 4-1 when Damici posts two or more runs, but 3-4-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Hansen, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Coal Ridge entered their tilt with Roaring Fork on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 14-9.
George Roberts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Coal Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Battle Mountain's win bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Coal Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Battle Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Coal Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
