Baseball Recap: Albemarle School Wins Going Away Against Northeast Academy

Albemarle School won the last time they faced Northeast Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Colts were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Hassell made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Hassell was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Javonte Borg, who went 2-for-5 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those hits were his first of the season. Jackson Bunn was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run.

Albemarle School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Albemarle School's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Northeast Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Albemarle School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast Academy, they will host Ridgecroft at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
