            Softball Preview: Turner Trojans vs. Evansville Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Turner has gone 9-1 against Evansville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils  at 5:00  p.m. Turner will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Turner took a ten-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Burlington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Demons  a   2-0 shutout  on Monday.

Not much got past  Olyvia Piranio, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Burlington off the board. Piranio has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Jayla Jackson was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple and one  run.
 Meanwhile, Evansville came up short against  Lodi on Monday, falling  12-4. Evansville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Turner pushed their record up to 13-2 with the  victory, which was their eighth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Evansville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
 Turner was able to grind out a solid  victory over Evansville in their previous matchup  back in April, winning  6-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success,  or do  the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
