Baseball Recap: LaPoynor Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact LaPoynor can now relate to. They came up short against the Overton Mustangs on Thursday, falling 11-4. The Flyers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

LaPoynor's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Overton, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Overton beat LaPoynor by a score of 4-2 later that day.
