Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Philomath

Philomath had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the La Grande Tigers. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Philomath's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for La Grande, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Philomath will venture away from home to square off against West Albany at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for La Grande, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against Tillamook on the 5th.
