Baseball Game Preview: Norton Lancers vs. Dover-Sherborn Raiders

The Norton Lancers are taking a road trip to challenge the Dover-Sherborn Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dover-Sherborn took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Norton, who comes in off a win.

Norton took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bellingham, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lancers won by a run and slipped past the Blackhawks 4-3. The Lancers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ben Price tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Musto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Pace Ribeiro was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dover-Sherborn came up short against Medway on Wednesday and fell 8-5. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Theo Allan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Will Forman also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Norton's record now sits at 3-5. As for Dover-Sherborn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Norton couldn't quite finish off Dover-Sherborn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
