Basketball Recap: Menominee Comes Up Short

Menominee was the 59-53 winner over Gladstone when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Menominee Maroons had to suffer through a 61-25 loss at the hands of the Gladstone Braves. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Braves are ranked 41st).

Gladstone was led to victory by Addy Blowers and Lillie Johnson. Blowers posted 11 points and three steals, while Johnson dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Mayce Hanson, who had ten points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Menominee has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season. As for Gladstone, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Menominee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-42 victory against Kingsford on the 10th. As for Gladstone, they have also already played their next game, a 66-32 win against Escanaba on the 10th.
