Basketball Recap: South Dade Takes a Loss

South Dade's tournament run continued when they took on Ribault on Friday. The South Dade Buccaneers fell 61-52 to the Ribault Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Trojans are ranked 53rd).

Leading Ribault to victory were Kaden Toure and Kaleb McDuffie. Toure went 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds, while McDuffie posted 18 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Pressley, who had seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for South Dade and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Ribault, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

South Dade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-62 defeat against Davenport on the 21st. As for Ribault, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-52 victory against Gainesville on the 21st.
