League recap: Northville bests South Lyon East in blowout

Northville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,945 from 3,574. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-0 victory over South Lyon East last week.

The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cameron Thomas threw for 205 yards and Quinn Schelske had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Blake Vallance chipped in 39 yards. Wade Morris helped South Lyon East's passing attack out by catching four balls for 66 yards.

South Lyon East's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Thomas has thrown for 1163 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Morris has 26 catches for 343 yards. Alex Spratke leads the league in rushing with 455 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Stevenson takes on second place Salem. Last week, Stevenson bested Novi, while Salem topped South Lyon.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Spartans take on the Rocks. Stevenson has allowed 121 points this season, while Salem has given up 118. Tim Gabel's team allowed 20 points last week as it topped the Wildcats.

The Spartans led the league in scoring this week after putting up 30 points on Novi.
