Volleyball Recap: Dr. Phillips Takes a Loss

If Dr. Phillips was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ridge Community on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Horizon Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Dr. Phillips lost, don't look at Evan Cervantes. Despite the final result, he had 13 digs and one assist. Cervantes is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Dr. Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Horizon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Dr. Phillips didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Apopka on the 11th. As for Horizon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Windermere on the 12th.
