Baseball Recap: Chardon Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chardon extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 11-9 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Mayfield Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Hilltoppers have won by just one run.

Stone Fawcett was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

As for Mayfield, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Mayfield's side, AJ Rogers, Jr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. Rogers, Jr has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlie Brunello was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Ethan Claflin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Chardon has already played their next game (against Brush), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mayfield, they will challenge Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
