Softball Recap: Edgewood's Run of Eight Straight Victories Now Over

Edgewood dropped their record down to 9-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They lost 6-0 to the Perry Pirates. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

For Perry's part, not much got past Sophie Sivon, who gave up just four hits to keep Edgewood off the board. Sivon has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rosalyn Tharp was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Edgewood and Perry should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Warriors will face off against Geneva at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (64 vs. 289). Meanwhile, Perry (ranked 100th) will meet Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (ranked 213th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
