Basketball Recap: Gage Lewis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carlin over Tonopah

Carlin lost against Tonopah back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Carlin Railroaders received a blow as they fell 29-15 to the Tonopah Muckers.

Carlin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gage Lewis, who posted six points.

Tonopah found their leader in sophomore Landen Blackburn, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daniel Villa, who put up four points.

Carlin's defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Tonopah, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Carlin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 31-20 win against Whittell on the 6th. As for Tonopah, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-29 victory against Owyhee on the 6th.
