Athens extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 11-4 in the process. They put the hurt on the Meigs Marauders with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Meigs, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 26th.

For Meigs' part, Shelby Yost was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Athens and Meigs should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Bulldogs will take on New Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (174 vs. 370). Meanwhile, Meigs (ranked 102nd) will meet River Valley (ranked 493rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
