Softball Recap: Gustine Comes Up Short

Gustine lost against Stone Ridge Christian back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Reds lost 18-5 to the Knights. The Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shandel Aguilera and Jacqueline Chavez did some serious damage despite the final result: Aguilera went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Chavez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jaclynn Lopez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Gustine's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Stone Ridge Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gustine will challenge Modesto Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they will head out to challenge Waterford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
