Softball Recap: St. Johns Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for St. Johns, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Round Valley Elks on Wednesday. The Redskins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Elks, too.

St. Johns let Kelsey Scarbrough and Kaylee Pulsipher run wild. Scarbrough scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Pulsipher went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Scarbrough posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Lucy Sundahl was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

St. Johns' win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Round Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

St. Johns will take on Show Low at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Show Low will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Round Valley, they will square off against Joseph City at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Joseph City's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Round Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
