Baseball Recap: Enloe's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Enloe came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Sanderson Spartans on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Malhar Shelke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Joshua ?J.T.? Glenn was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Gabriel Martinez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Enloe's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Sanderson, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Sanderson will welcome Vance County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Enloe will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' game: after the Spartans faces off against the Vipers, they'll take on Enloe again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
