Baseball Recap: Northampton Yellowjackets vs. Arcadia Firebirds

Northampton extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-9. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arcadia Firebirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 two weeks ago.

Lucas Kindt and Trent Ferebee stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kindt got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Ferebee went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ferebee has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Kim, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

As for Arcadia, they now have a winning record of 9-8. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Arcadia's side, Dalton Barnes was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Barnes a new career-high. Jacob Delgado also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
