Basketball Recap: Boulder Creek Takes a Loss

Boulder Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the O'Connor Eagles, falling 76-28. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Eagles are ranked 23rd).

Audrey Bhesania continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for O'Connor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Bhesania's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Helms, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 18 points and three steals.

Boulder Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for O'Connor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder Creek will challenge Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for O'Connor, they will head out to face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. O'Connor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
