Basketball Game Preview: Windermere Prep Lakers vs. Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles

The Windermere Prep Lakers will take on the Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Windermere Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-65 to Evans. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Samuel Shoptaw, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Bass Jr., who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Central Florida Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 63-51 win over the Storm.

Central Florida Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Windermere Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alexander Dipaolo, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian DeClou, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Windermere Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything came up roses for Windermere Prep against Central Florida Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 78-49 win.
