Basketball Recap: Buckeye Valley Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

After losing to Whitehall-Yearling the last time they met, Buckeye Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Buckeye Valley Barons came out on top against the Whitehall-Yearling Rams by a score of 68-60 on Thursday. Given the Barons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Rams are ranked 528th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Buckeye Valley has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Buckeye Valley will challenge Bishop Ready at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Buckeye Valley comes in on five and Bishop Ready on three. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they will venture away from home to square off against Eastmoor Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
