Basketball Game Preview: Red Lake County Central Mustangs vs. Fosston Greyhounds

The Red Lake County Central Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Fosston Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Red Lake County Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Red Lake County Central humbled Clearbrook-Gonvick with a 93-51 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Bears are ranked 197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fosston came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 64-56 win over Win-E-Mac on Tuesday.

Red Lake County Central pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Fosston, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9.

Red Lake County Central strolled past Fosston when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 81-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Lake County Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
