Basketball Recap: Mia Cunningham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Thomaston

On Tuesday, the Seymour Wildcats beat the Thomaston Bears 46-36.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seymour to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Cunningham, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Barton, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Seymour smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Thomaston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Seymour will be playing in front of their home fans against Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thomaston, they will challenge Canton at 6:30 p.m. on January 15th.
