Volleyball Recap: Wood River Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home + How To Watch

After losing to Minico the last time they met, Wood River decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wolverines have posted against the Spartans since September 19, 2023.

Wood River never let Minico on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-23.

Wood River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashley Carhuamaca, who had 11 digs and two aces. Carhuamaca has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Daisy Scales was another key player, getting eight kills, three aces, and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: Wood River was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matches.

Wood River's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. As for Minico, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
