Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. Salisbury Hornets

Lexington is 1-9 against Salisbury since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Lexington Yellowjackets face off against the Salisbury Hornets at 7:30 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

On Tuesday, Lexington got the win against West Davidson by a conclusive 67-41. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Dragons are ranked 644th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Salisbury waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They took their game with ease, bagging a 100-38 win over the Golden Eagles. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 33 points or more this season.

Lexington is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Salisbury, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
