Soccer Game Preview: San Marcos vs. Santa Barbara

The San Marcos Royals will take on the Santa Barbara Dons at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Marcos is headed into the matchup having not lost since January 17 and will look to keep things rolling. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Buena on Friday. It was an even better day for Jose Ramirez as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Santa Barbara's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Rio Mesa 2-1.

San Marcos is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Santa Barbara, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16-2.

San Marcos was able to grind out a solid win over Santa Barbara when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-0. Does San Marcos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Barbara turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
