Softball Recap: Kilgore Comes Up Short

Kilgore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Henderson Lions, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

Kilgore's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Henderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kilgore is set to face off against their familiar foe Gilmer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Henderson will take on rival Carthage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are on a six-game streak of home wins, the Bulldogs a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
