Basketball Recap: Ellet Skates Past Firestone with Ease

Ellet won the last time they faced Firestone and things went their way on Monday too. The Ellet Orangemen really took it to the Firestone Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-8 win. The Orangemen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Ellet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Royalty Crooks out in front who went 6 of 8 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Crooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeda Tavares, who posted 12 points and six steals.

Ellet smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Ellet's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Firestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Ellet wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-39 loss against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy on the 11th. As for Firestone, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-24 defeat against Garfield on the 12th.
