Baseball Recap: Woodlake Comes Up Short

Woodlake started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Orange Cove. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Karl Ramsey III put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Caden Lopez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Woodlake's record is now 14-8-1. As for Orange Cove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season.

Woodlake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Corcoran on the 28th. As for Orange Cove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Farmersville on the 29th.
