Soccer Recap: Marmion Takes a Loss

The Marmion Cadets lost 7-3 to the Naperville Central Redhawks on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Marmion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Naperville Central are ranked third).

Jamin Berman and Andres Alvarez scored all three of Marmion's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Marmion has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4-2 record this season. As for Naperville Central, they pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Marmion will challenge Brother Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Naperville Central, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Waubonsie Valley at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
